The exact launch time
It is the most asked question, and the honest answer is one line long: nobody knows.
As of August 28, 2026, Rockstar has published no unlock time. The Newswire gives the date, never the hour. The studio has used both models before: midnight local time on console, a single global moment for the PC release of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Three versions circulate, and none of them rests on an official source.
Midnight local time
Every timezone unlocks at its own midnight, New Zealand first. The most common console model.
A single 5:00 UTC moment
Midnight in New York, 6am in Paris. PlayStation Store listings are cited, though Sony states this nowhere.
A regional grid
A country-by-country schedule. No trace of that grid on any official Rockstar channel.
