GTA 6 Grassrivers: the wetlands Rockstar has shown so far
Grassrivers is the wetland region of Leonida, one of six destinations Rockstar Games described on May 6, 2025. An Extended Look put it in motion on August 27, 2026, around the 17:10 mark, from a small boat.

Grassrivers is the wetland region of Leonida, and one of the six destinations Rockstar Games named and described on May 6, 2025, the day the second Grand Theft Auto VI trailer went out. Its official heading is “Welcome to the Wetlands”. The game arrives November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The copy the studio wrote for it runs to three sentences, and that is the whole of the official description:
The untamable jewel of Leonida’s crown. You never know what lies beneath the surface of this primordial expanse. The gators may be the most famous attraction, but there are far deadlier predators and weirder discoveries among the mangroves.
An Extended Look, released on August 27, 2026, showed the swamps in motion. SVG places the sequence around the 17:10 mark, Jason at the wheel of a small boat. The rest is not timed. Across the 26 minutes and 48 seconds of the video, SVG dated only three other moments: the Effluvia rooftop bar at 9:50, Bayside at 12:32 and the Megamundo headquarters at 20:50.

NME described the same passage, on August 27, 2026, as “a dazzling glimpse at the Grassrivers wetlands modelled on Florida’s famous Everglades”. The Everglades match is a reporters’ reading, not a Rockstar statement: the official Grassrivers copy names no real place. On August 28, 2026, Vice filed the region among the places seen outside Vice City, next to the Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga.
The vehicle tied to the region is the airboat, which Engadget listed on August 27, 2026 among the ways of getting around in the video, alongside base jumping, diving, jet skis and kayaks, each attached to a different part of Leonida. Wildlife met in the state or seen in captivity can be examined and ticked off a list, a widened version of a Red Dead Redemption 2 system, according to Vice on August 27, 2026.

What Rockstar has not said
No map of Leonida has been published by the studio, not on May 6, 2025 with trailer 2, not on August 27, 2026 with An Extended Look. The area of Grassrivers, its border with the neighbouring regions and its exact position are all unknown. Rockstar does not use the word “county” in its copy either: the six places are presented as destinations, and the county names in circulation come from road signs and sheriff badges read off trailers and screenshots, as GTA Intel set out on June 6, 2026.
The other regions have entries of their own: the state of Leonida as a whole, Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia. The video of August 27 is broken down in our entry on An Extended Look.
